Last year was the year when Vivo mobile unveiled its first ever Under-Display Fingerprint Scanning Solution at the 2017 Mobile World Congress in Shanghai. It is the first of its kind in the world and Vivo was the first to offer it. Early this year, Vivo’s APEX FullView concept smartphone generated buzz with its truly full-screen display was reveal. Last June 21st, they’ve launched the Vivo X21 here in the Philippines and it has caused a lot of likes from our citizens.
The APEX also features quite a lot of innovative technologies including the half-screen in-display fingerprint scanning technology, an elevating front camera, and screen SoundCasting technology.
I’m sure that every Pinoy Vivo enthusiast has been waiting for the new unique technology from this Chinese handset product. It is replacing the traditional rear fingerprint sensor commonly found on most smartphones. Vivo is known for always being the “first” in the past. As a matter of fact, they’re actually the first to launch a 24-megapixel selfie camera in V7 and V7+ and in V5Plus with a 20megapixel dual front camera smartphone.

Vivo Mobile Philippines broke the rivalry and outsmarted other players in the industry since they formally announced their first X-series Android smatphone model. It has an In-Display Fingerprint Sensor/Scanner on top of other high-end technical specs last Thursday, June 21, 2018.
They’ve reached their milestone since it is the first commercially released phone in the Philippines to have that feature and will surely hit store shelves with its eXpress unlocking feature and an elevating design.
This launch is important since it’s the first instance Filipinos get a hold of this new fingerprint scanning tech where the fingerprint scanner is placed beside the display. This in-display scanner is certainly more secure than the conventional button on the bezel.
Other notable features about the new Vivo X21
Aside from the in-display scanner, screen sensor, the stunning, attention-grabbing and innovative Vivo X21 also sports an extraordinary generous FullView Display which allows immersive mobile video streaming and an excellent gaming experience.
There’s a nearly seamless front, interrupted only by the cutout at the top of the screen for the front-facing camera and speaker. Apart from the above-mentioned in-screen sensor, an extreme AI-powered Dual Rear Camera setup for vivid pictures in either low light or backlight situations. Also, an exceptional AI Beauty Selfie Camera, and Exhilarating Hi-Fi Audio Enhancement for a more enjoyable music listening experience on the move.
It’s clean but the look is still unknown from manufacturers Oppo, Huawei, LG, Asus, and Xiaomi. All these other manufacturers, however, are still on the verge of having this type of feature. The in-display sensor is quick and more comfortable to unlock than to scrabble with one’s index finger for rear-mounted scanners.
Size and important Vivo X21 specifications
The Vivo X21 looks almost identical to the V9 except for its marquee feature. It has a 6.28-inch Super AMOLED screen that’s bright and sharp, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, 6GB RAM, and a Massive Internal Storage Capacity 64GB/128GB.
The charging port’s stuck since 2016, using a micro USB instead of the new Type-C standard that other manufacturers utilize. The phone charges quickly, however, the 3,200 mAh battery is more than enough for a day of heavy use which included browsing social media feeds, keeping track of chat groups and streaming video.
